Fox Mandal hires Harvey to boost client service - ai legal assistant
Fox Mandal & Associates prioritizes AI reliability, uniformity, and confidentiality in workflow upgrades.

Fox Mandal & Associates has integrated Harvey, an AI-powered legal assistant, to improve client service while keeping tight controls on security and human judgment. The firm spent months comparing various AI tools before choosing Harvey, placing top importance on reliability, uniformity, and confidentiality—critical factors for a long-standing practice updating its workflows.

Harvey operates with robust security measures designed specifically for the legal industry. Client data is encrypted and never used to train Harvey’s models, ensuring that attorney-client privilege remains fully protected. The platform adheres to strict security standards, keeping confidential information secure within the firm’s environment.

Shourya Mandal, Co-Managing Partner, described the adoption as a logical step for a firm accustomed to technological change. “We are a legacy firm that is forward-looking and has consistently modernized with changing times, so the adoption of AI was a natural step for us. With this integration, we have equipped our people with the best tool available for improving efficiency, while remaining accountable for every output. We are investing in tomorrow’s legal technology today, so we can ensure that our clients always stay a step ahead,” he stated.

Santosh Vikram Singh, Senior Partner who spearheaded the initiative at the Firm, added, “When we embarked on the journey of finding the right tool through rigorous pilots, our focus was clearly to identify the most secure and elite solution for our clients. We chose Harvey AI for the consistent and sophisticated quality it offered. Internally, the tool will handle routine tasks, freeing up our lawyers to focus on high-judgment work. However, the accountability will not change. Human oversight, data security, and confidentiality will remain as the guardrails for us while delivering efficient and high-quality work.”

John Haddock, Chief Business Officer at Harvey, commended Fox Mandal’s deliberate evaluation. “Fox Mandal & Associates took a thoughtful and rigorous approach to evaluating legal AI, with a clear focus on quality, consistency, and confidentiality. We’re proud to support the firm as it uses Harvey to enhance how its lawyers work and serve clients, and we look forward to continuing to innovate together,” he said.

Some legal practitioners remain cautious about AI adoption in law, raising concerns about trust and accuracy. However, Fox Mandal’s structured implementation emphasizes oversight and security.

Fox Mandal has not revealed exact applications or the scope of Harvey’s rollout, but the firm expects the tool to initially assist with routine tasks. Staff training is active, with full deployment planned for the coming quarter.
